These 5 Apps Saved Me Over $5,000

I’m not sure about you, but I love saving money! If I have to pay full price for something, I cringe. These 5 apps below have helped me to save over a combined total of  $5,250!

I honestly don’t know how I ever lived without these apps because they have helped me to save so much money over the past couple of years! Couldn’t be without them now.

All of these apps have over 1 million downloads each, except for Digit (it is a smaller company). They still have well over 100,000 downloads. All have reviews of 4.2 out of 5 stars or better!

1. Digit

This app is my favorite! Just this past month, it saved me an extra $160!! Since I started using this app, it has saved me over $3,000!

I did not even notice that extra $160 was missing from my account last month! Digit watches your finances on a daily basis and sees what you can afford to save. The advanced algorithm does not allow the app to overdraft your account, and on the off chance it does, they will refund you! They recommend that you set up a limit. If your bank account hits that limit, it will not withdraw anymore until you have more money.

You can set up different goals to save for and it’ll save for all goals and focus more on the goals with the higher priorities! You can also set it up to receive texts every morning of how much is in your bank account. It is an extremely trustworthy app that I have been using for years and have had no problems with them! It’s free for the first 30 days and after that, it is $2.99/mo that they will withdraw from your Digit account. Totally worth it though! I’d pay $33 to save over $3,000!

They usually watch your account for a week or so before withdrawing, just to get a feel of your spending habits. Just be aware of that if it doesn’t start saving instantly!

If you are interested in wanting to save more with Digit, you can sign up here!

2. Acorns

Acorns is another great app to help save money that I have been using for years! Last month, it saved me an extra $98!! Since I started using this app, it has saved me over $2,000!

Acorns is a free investing app. It rounds up all of your purchases (IE: you spend $9.41, it’ll round it up to $10 and save the $.59) and when all the roundups have totaled to $5, it’ll pull the $5 from your account and put it into your investments. It is also recommended that you pull out a certain amount each week for an automatic withdrawal which can be as little as $5! This one can add up pretty quick. It is just as trustworthy as Digit and I have been using it for years as well! There have been no problems with Acorns either.

If you’re interested in an easy way to save that spare change, sign up here to receive your first $5 on them!

3. Stash

Last month was my first month using Stash, but I like it so far! I opted to put in the minimum amount ($5/week) to see how I liked it. I even got a little bonus! With investments included, this app saved me $34 last month!

Stash is an investment app that is free to download and very credible! You set up an amount to be withdrawn from your account every week (as little as $5) and you can choose which companies you want to invest in! I just started with this app in June, but am very impressed so far!

If you’re interested in adding a little investment to your savings, I’d recommend signing up for an account here! As a thank you, they will give your account with an extra $5 to start out with!

4. Ibotta

This app is awesome for grocery shopping! This app gives you cash back on the groceries you buy every day! It takes a quick two minutes to do after you have finished grocery shopping and if you purchase any of the products on their list, you will get cash back for them! Ibotta has also turned to certain retail stores as well, trying to do something similar to Ebates with their cash back.

This app has made me an extra $72.50 this past year. I do not use this app to its full potential! The way to use this app to the fullest is to plan your grocery shopping trip around this app! I have seen plenty of women save hundreds, even thousands by doing this! You can also use coupons at the store and then use Ibotta as well afterward – doubling your savings! Sometimes you get the product for free that way.

If spending an extra two minutes after grocery shopping to get back extra money is something you’d be interested in, you can sign up here!

The best part about signing up with them is that they will give you a $10 welcome bonus after redeeming your first offer!

5. Ebates

Ebates is a must have if you are going to do ANY online shopping! They have paired with hundreds of companies to bring you the best deals and cash back options! All you need to do is sign up for an account and install it into your browser as an extension and Ebates will do the rest!

When the extension notices that you are on a website that they offer cash back on, they will let you know! You just click on the button that pops up and they will take you to that website through their own website and you don’t have to do anything else except shop! Super easy to use! People save thousands on this all the time!

My favorite part about it is that you can use store coupons AND get the cash back when you shop! Making the savings even sweeter!

It’s such an easy way to save extra money while online shopping – perfect for Christmas time! If you sign up here, they will give you a free $10 after your first purchase of $25 or more!

I’d LOVE to hear what apps you use to help you save extra money! Please tell me about them in the comments below.
